The following photographs are ones I took during a lightening storm, over Area 51. We were parked on the dirt road called Groom Lake Road, right near Highway 375, the Extraterrestrial Highway.

Also, on the scanner we heard a couple of people talking about how they lost power at Groom Lake and the backup generators wouldn't start. They did eventually get them started, but it was funny to hear when you consider this is a multi-billion dollar facility.

It was raining...well raining is a weak word for what was going on. The downpours we saw were awesome!

As you can tell, the rain was coming down hard! I've been in those downpours. They may not last very long, but you wonder if you're going to float way.

This particular downpour is right on top of where we always see the guards sitting in their truck.

The road you see, is of course Groom Lake Road. This particular downpour is right over the Medlin Ranch.
